Paul Wingate Obituary
CLOVERDALE -- Paul D. Wingate, 71 of Cloverdale, passed away on March 9, 2026. Paul was born on January 31, 1955, in Mesa, AZ, to the late Martin and Virginia (Lenhart) Wingate.
He is survived by his brothers, Stephen Wingate and James (Dawn) Wingate. Paul was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Wingate. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew: Wendy (Matt) Schnipke, Dr. Jamie (James) Sinton, and Scott (Jenna) Wingate.
Paul proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Life Member of VFW Post #3740 in Ottoville and the American Legion Post 541 in Continental. A quiet, thoughtful man, he enjoyed spending time at the Howard County Vietnam Reunion and valued the camaraderie of fellow veterans there.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Eastside Chapel with Rev. Lori Wright to officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #3740 in Ottoville.
