Paul Witthoft Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Duyck & VanDeHey Funeral Home - Forest Grove on Feb. 13, 2023.
Paul Arthur Witthoft, 82, a resident of the Banks community passed away on February 9, 2023 at his home.
Paul was born on November 11, 1940 in Beach, ND. He was the only child born to Arthur and Grace (Drake) Witthoft. He lived in San Diego until his family made their home in Aloha, OR in 1943. He graduated in 1958 from Hillsboro High School and entered the Airforce serving for four years as an engineering mechanic.
He moved home to Oregon following his military service and he went into the workforce. Paul started working with Exact Electronics as a silk screen fabricator, then with Cooney Tool and Die, and retiring with General Electric in 2006 where he worked with hydro generators and nuclear power plants. He was a member of the Local Union 48.
Paul met his future wife, Delores Arstill, through mutual friends, they soon started dating and they married on May 28, 1966 in Hillsboro, OR. They lived in North Plains, OR for 10 years until 1978, when they moved to Banks, OR where Paul built their family home. They had two children; Paul and Debra.
Paul took great pride in his home, spending time working on household projects, as well as in his garden. He was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and known to be called somewhat of a "rockhound" searching for meteorite rocks. When he wasn't in the outdoors, he would visit garage sales and watch old western TV shows. He was a mechanic at heart, working on old cars and anything with a motor. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson; Dru Stromberg Jr.
He in survived by his wife loving wife, Delores, two children, Paul H. Witthoft of Banks, Deborah Sheldon of Beaverton and eight grandchildren, Derek, Ashley, Angel, Amy, Amanda, Jeffrey, Donovan and Autumn
