Paul Wayne Yates, a cherished husband, father, brother, and businessman, passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 67, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 5, 1958, in Buffalo, Missouri, Paul's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, his deep love for his family, and his commitment to serving his community.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Yates, their children Justin Yates of Dry Prong, LA and grandson, Brady Long of Springfield MO, Jennifer Martin of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Ben Martin and wife Cara of Lee Summit, MO and granddaughters Maycie and Myah also of Lee Summit, and Izik Gazette of Springfield, MO, his brothers, Eddie Yates and wife Mary of Marshfield, MO, Eldon Yates of Springfield, MO, John Yates and wife Cheryl of Fair Grove, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Paul's love for his wife, Dawn was profound and unwavering and they shared 27 joyous years of marriage. They were not only partners in life but also in business, as co-owners of R&P Heating and Air, a reputable HVAC company that has been serving the greater Springfield area since 1998. Paul's dedication to his work was evident in the quality service and fair prices he offered to his customers, who often became his friends. Brent Rayman, who has been Paul's faithful friend and employee, has worked tirelessly at Paul's side throughout the years. It was Paul's wish for Dawn, Brent, and Izik to continue this legacy of service to the community.
A man of deep faith, Paul's love for the Lord was the cornerstone of his life. He spent countless hours in prayer, hoping that his friends would come to know the goodness of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Paul's desire was for others to see Jesus in his life, and he lived out this mission through his actions and words. His faith was not just a belief but a guiding force that shaped every aspect of his existence.
While we grieve Paul's absence from us, his legacy will continue to have a powerful impact on the lives of his family and all who knew him. As we navigate our grief, we find solace in the goodness, faithfulness, and sovereignty of God. Psalms 116:15 reminds us that "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." With this in mind, we rejoice that Paul is now in the presence of the Lord he so dearly loved. Paul's journey on earth may have come to an end, but the memories he created, the love he shared, and the faith he exemplified will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched. As we remember Paul, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a faith well-expressed.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have been a part of Paul's life. Your friendship, love, and support have been a source of great comfort to us during this time. Paul will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he has influenced.
A memorial service will be held on March 1, 2025 at Crossway Baptist Church, located at 2900 North Barnes, Springfield, MO, 65803 at 2:00 p.m. We invite all our friends and family to join us in celebration of Paul's life and legacy.

Dawn,
Praying for you and your family.
Paul was a great guy ever since I knew him in school. It was great reconnecting with you both at church and when Paul came and did our air conditioner/heater work.
Love you - Pam Hall
