Paul D. Yoder, 87, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Massillon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024.
He was born on June 29, 1937 to David and Arie Yoder in Holmes County, Ohio.
Paul married the love of his life, Margery Ann Derr, on September 6, 1959. Their children are Jerry Yoder (deceased) and Robin Hopton.
He worked multiple jobs in his lifetime: Westinghouse, a realtor, and ultimately retiring at 85 as a driver/transport for the Amish.
He loved to work to keep him busy, but in his free time he loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also loved when he could ride and mow with his tractor.
Paul is survived by his daughter Robin Hopton, his grandchildren Cory and Katelynn Hopton, Briana and Cory March, Kody Yoder, and his great-grandchildren Carson Hopton, Hadlea Hopton, and Cecilia March, and a special family friend, Brenda Pumphrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents David and Arie Yoder, his siblings Esther and Elmer Yoder, Ruth and William (Bill) Miller, Emma and Dan Weaver, Thomas and Hazel Yoder, Bejamin Yoder, and Moses (David) Yoder, his wife Margery Yoder, and son Jerry Yoder.
Friends may call Wednesday December 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Paul-Yoder). Private family burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
