On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Paula Bicket saw clearly the face of God. Her sight is now fully restored; her struggle is over, her pain has ended, and her battle is won.
Paula Ellen Lee Doyle was born January 2, 1955, in Braymer, Missouri, to Paul and Mary (Bayer) Doyle. A beautiful child, Paula learned at a young age the value of hard work and the importance of family and friends.
A woman of many talents, Paula excelled professionally as a real estate agent and an executive assistant at multiple corporations. Most recently, she assisted husband David with his business. She loved growing flowers-and even weeding. While her vision was good, she made cross-stitch works of art that she enjoyed sharing with others.
But Paula's true focus was always on her family and friends-and her beloved dog, Barney. Her most cherished days were spent at home with her husband, David. His faithful and constant companionship and care for her through the years prepared them for the exhausting two months they spent together in the hospital and hospice. Upon awakening, she would call out his name, and-more than seems humanly possible-he was there, right beside her to the end.
Anyone who spent even a little time with Paula quickly understood her all-encompassing love for her children and grandchildren. She delighted in their accomplishments, could truly see their strengths and great potential, and was quick to activate the prayer chain whenever they faced a challenge. Her greatest hope was that one day she would see all of her children and grandchildren in heaven. She was delighted to see them so faithfully; she was never alone during her final months.
Family legacy mattered to Paula. She was a proficient and avid genealogist, collecting and preserving the family heritage, writing the stories, and passing them on to the next generation. A skillful internet sleuth, Paula helped many others track down elusive bits that made their own family's story a little bit clearer and more complete.
Paula loved her friends like they were family, just as she cherished her friendships with family. She was thoughtful and had an amazing mind. She remembered everyone's birthday, special occasions, and milestones.
She found joy in giving thoughtful and generous gifts. In fact, giving brought Paula more pleasure than any gift she received-although she loved knowing that those she cherished were thinking of her. She would be cheered to know just how much we are thinking of her today-and always will.
Paula is survived by her husband, David Bicket; her siblings, Linda Doyle and Sam Doyle; her children, Chris Gaulter (Laurie) and Lorinda Gaulter Tajeda; her grandchildren, Chris Woods, Jordan Fuller, Gabrielle Ae, Ashton Gaulter, Taylor Gaulter, Kaitlyn Rupe, and Tyler Rupe; and greatgrandchildren, Donovan, Ailana, Pearl, and Magnolia.
Friends and family are invited to a service of celebration and remembrance at 11:00am, Monday, October 23, 2023 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133. Visitation willbe held prior to the service at 10:00am. To view the service live, click HERE.

My grandma used to take me to school every so often. One day, in early elementary school, we pulled through the pickup line and saw all the other kids exiting their parents cars with pajamas on. I forgot it was pajama day! I was so upset, and grandma Paula would not let me go to school without them. She took me to target, got me pajamas, and got me back to school in time. This was a memory we shared together. I´ll never forget it, and how loved and cared for it made me feel. I love my Grandma Paula SOOO much.
