Paula Street Compton, better known as Mommy, Mamaw, and "PJ", left this world on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born on October 1, 1957, in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Paul and Ollie Mae Yates Street.
Paula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed road trips with her husband Wayne, spending time with her grandkids, and staying in Wythe County at her camper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harrison and Martha Vandyke Street; two brothers, Jeff Street and Harrison Street; father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Vicie Church Compton; also several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends.
Paula married the love of her life and "number 1 supporter," as she always called him, Lonnie Wayne Compton on March 20, 1976.
She is also survived by:

Ben Compton and companion, Nikki Cantrell of Pilgrims Knob, VA
"Bear" Compton and wife, Amanda of Forest, VA
Grandchildren, her pride and joy:
Connor Compton and wife, Haley, Addison Compton, Kinnley Compton, and Ava Compton
Special Granddog, Marley
Brothers:
Teddy Street and wife, Julie of Abingdon, VA
Keith "Nut" Street and wife, Lisa of Bristol, TN
Special Sister-in-Law, who she claimed as her own sisters: Ann Lester and Linda Compton
Paula was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved dearly.
Funeral services for Paula Compton will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Clyde Wimmer, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmer Compton Family Cemetery, on Pilgrims Knob, VA. Pallbearers will be Aaron Clay, Scotty Compton, Brandon Blankenship, Drake Charles, Justin Street, and Gary Young. Grandchildren, D.J. Jackson, and Brian Rasnake will serve as honorary pallbearers. The Compton family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands is in charge of arrangements. Those wishing to express sympathy may do so at www.hurstscottfunerlahomes.com.
