Paula Lofton

Paula Jean Irons Lofton, 70, of Hazlehurst, MS, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024. Born on January 10, 1954, in Shreveport, LA, Paula moved to Brookhaven as a young girl and graduated as a proud member of the Brookhaven High School Class of 1972. She worked as an office manager for 25 years before retiring to fully embrace her passions.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, William and Muriel Irons; her husband, Robert Lofton; and her brother, Bill Irons. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sarah Ballow; her sister, Susan Webb; her niece, Sherri (Sid) Lambert; and her great-nephew, Ethan Lambert, along with a host of extended family and friends.
A member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Paula lived a life full of love and creativity. She found joy in sewing, tending to her yard and flowers, and decorating her home for the holidays. An animal lover at heart, she treasured watching deer and birds gather in her yard, always cherishing the beauty of nature.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Phillip Hamby officiating. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League or the American Lung Cancer Association in her memory.
