Paula M. Moore (nee Ricciardi) of Linden, NJ passed away at Morristown Medical Center on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 74.
Paula was born in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Virginia (nee de Rogatis) and Carmine Ricciardi, Sr. and was raised in both Newark and Carteret, NJ. Paula met and married her beloved husband James and together they built their life in Linden, NJ, where they have resided the past 47 years.
Paula received a bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ and a master's degree from Kean University. She was employed as an elementary school teacher for the Sayreville Board of Education for many years before her retirement. During her employment in Sayreville, a job she thoroughly loved, she taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at Emma L. Arleth School, Jesse Selover School and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School.
Paula was an avid NCAA basketball fan, Seton Hall University being her favorite team. She also loved watching a good round of Jeopardy. Paula is affectionately remembered as being the "QVC Queen" as well as an "amateur gemologist", referring to her love of jewelry. Renowned for her "killer" cheesecake, Paula loved to whip one up to share amongst family and friends.
A loving wife, mother, sister and godmother, Paula is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, James Moore of Linden, her daughter Amy Moore and husband Edwin Nunez of Union, NJ, brothers Michael Ricciardi and wife Gina of Summit, NJ and Carmine Ricciardi, Jr. and wife Christine of Watchung, NJ. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Hts., NJ on Tuesday, August 27th, from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. John the Apostle Church, 1805 Penbrook Terrace, Linden, NJ on Wednesday, August 28th at 10 AM, followed by the burial at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
