Paula Purcell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home on Feb. 8, 2026.
Paula Gayle Reynolds Purcell, a beacon of kindness and friendliness, passed peacefully into eternal rest on February 5, 2026, in Lexington, KY. Born on June 3, 1965, in Paris, KY, Paula's vibrant spirit and nurturing nature touched the lives of everyone she met.

Paula was a proud 1983 graduate of Bourbon County High School and went on to establish a fulfilling career as a Logistics Coordinator at Link-Belt. She was not just committed to her professional life; Paula was an avid learner with a particular fascination for caves and the stories they held within their silent chambers. Her curiosity drove her to study these natural wonders, especially those around her hometown of Paris, KY.

Those who knew Paula will recall her passion for life, illuminated in the way she zestfully engaged with her favorite documentaries or the sheer joy she exuded while playing slot machines. Her spirit radiated warmth and hospitality, ensuring that friends and family always felt welcome and cherished.

Paula's dedication to her family was unwavering. She leaves behind a loving husband, Leo Davis Purcell, Jr.; two devoted children, Kari Renee Sexton (Preston Bartlett), and Dustin Lee Purcell; and four adored grandchildren, Karlee, Zakariah, Rodie, and Brodie Sexton, who will miss her immensely. Her special bond with friends, Heather Mitchell and Stephanie Day, will be fondly remembered as a source of laughter and strength. Her adoration for her dog, Queenie B, was evident to all who knew her, a token of her enormous capacity to love.

Preceding Paula in rest are her parents, Adrian and Marie Turner Reynolds; brothers, Mark and Todd Reynolds; and her son, Joshua Ray. Her legacy will be continued through her extended family of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends-all of whom considered themselves blessed to have felt the embrace of her presence.

As a final act of selflessness, Paula was an organ donor, a decision that reflects her generous spirit and desire to provide others with the gift of life.

We celebrate the life and memory of Paula Gayle Reynolds Purcell. She was a treasure to her family, her friends, and her community, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will resonate for years to come.
