Pauletta Arleen Owens, age 70, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. She was born to the late William and Viola Wright on April 3, 1955, in Shelbyville, KY. She was united in marriage to Terry Owens Sr. on September 3, 1971. They were married for 54 years. She attended high school at Eminence, KY and then traveled the world with her husband, who was a member of the United States Air Force. She worked for many years as a cashier on several military bases while raising three boys. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Eminence, KY. In 2008, she and her family returned to Kentucky. Shortly after, she began working at Walmart. Pauletta was a caring, fun, loving woman and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed playing poker, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. She would always say whatever was on her mind and always kept it real. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Kendrick Lamont Owens. Her brothers Ronald Wright and Newton Wright, and sister, Sandra “Pumkin” Wright.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Owens Sr. and her sons, Charles Jenkins Owens and Terry Saunders Owens Jr., and her seven grandchildren, Teanna Cason, Keshawn Owens, Elijah Owens, Talia Mullins, Olivia Owens, Trinity Cromartie, and Yasmin Lott, her sister Carolyn Parrott, her Aunt, Dortha “Lula” Beach, and host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, 5706 S. Main St., Eminence, KY 40019. There will be a bereavement meal to follow services and all family & friends are welcome.
