Paulette Mayers Gautreau, a life long resident of Gonzales, LA passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 76. Born to Maurice Mayers Sr and Etta Lambert Mayers on February 16, 1949 in Brignac, Louisiana.
She is survived by her two daughters Maisie, (husband Jason Guidry) and Judy (husband Gary Christian Jr.), her grandchildren, Hannah Guidry, Caleb Guidry, Emily Christian (fiancé Bryant Kole Graham) Evan Christian, and great granddaughter Parker Kole Graham, brothers Perry and Beryl Mayers, and sisters Patricia Mayers, Fern Elisar, Sharon Deshautelles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by her father Maurice Mayers Sr and mother, Etta Lambert Mayers, sisters Judy Ann Mayers, Barbara Mayers Lambert, Kaye Mayers Lambert, and brothers Manuel, Maurice Jr, and Gabriel Mayers
Her life was centered around her deep love for her family. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and most of all her great grand baby, Parker.
She was the first graduating class of East Ascension High School in 1967. She went to work straight after graduation for South Central Bell Telephone Company. She also worked as a church religious education secretary at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Then later in life she became a loving caretaker for many families, caring for children in homes.
She always held a strong faith and love of the Lord and loved serving people. She was the epitome of a good God-fearing woman. She raised wonderful children and loved her Lord.

I love God, my daughters, grandchildren, great granddaughter, family & friends. I enjoyed life, I worked hard. I helped others as much as I could."
The family of Mrs. Paulette would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the care she received at The Crossing Hospice in Baton Rouge and her care team with Pinnacle Hospice.
A private memorial and celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
