Anthony Ray Williams Sr.

Anthony Ray Williams, Sr. was born on August 3, 1971, in Baton Rouge, LA. He was the youngest of eleven children born to Barbara Williams and the late Royal J. Stewart, Sr. He grew up in Gonzales, LA where he attended East Ascension High School and played for the Spartan Football team. Anthony's favorite NFL Football team was the New Orleans Saints, and his favorite gospel song was "I won't Complain." Another one of his favorite things to do was to party and make everybody happy. Anthony moved to Luling, LA where he met and married Angelique Griffin. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, to his mother Barbara Williams, wife of twenty seven years, Angelique Griffin Williams, two daughters: Raychel Diamonique Watts of Thibodaux, LA and Dijonnae Jontel Griffin Dunmiles (Larry) of Luling, LA, two sons: Diavonte Vontel Griffin and Anthony Ray Williams, Jr., of Luling, LA, four brothers: Carl Williams, Jr. (Norma) of Baton Rouge, LA, Joseph Williams of Prairieville, LA, Kevin Williams of Covington, LA, Royal Stewart, Jr. of Raceland, LA, four sisters: Linda Williams of Baton Rouge, LA, Ardene and Rosalyn Williams of Prairieville, LA and Genice Williams Carter (Glenn) of Prairieville, LA, father-in-law Lloyd Griffin, III of Luling, LA and his sister-in-law Kelly Griffin Boyd (Will) of Gretna, LA. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Royal J. Stewart, Sr., sister, Gwendolyn Pollerd, brother, Willie Williams, maternal grandmother, Roselean Mackyeon Boudreaux, maternal grandfather, Joseph Boudreaux, niece, Kawani Hamp and his mother-in-law Barbara Hobbs Griffin. Family and friends are invited to Celebrate a Life Worth Living on Saturday, May 17, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 15471 Old Spanish Trail, Paradis, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Justin Robinson of First Baptist is officiating. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, please give all donations to the family.
