Troy Anthony Stephens was born on November 12, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Cherlyn Ann Carr Stephens and Warren K. Stephens. He was the eldest child of both his parents and was baptized early in life by the late Reverend A.L. Davis Jr. Troy attended Princeton High School and Howard University. He departed this life on September 24, 2025, at the age of 58. Troy shared a deep and lifelong bond with his sister, Lisa Theard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cherlyn Ann Carr; stepmother, Valerie Simpson Stephens and grandparents Gertrude Coleman Carr, Henry David Carr Sr., Geraldine Stephens, and Alfonso Stephens. He is survived by his father, Warren K. Stephens; siblings Lisa Stephens Theard (Pastor Leroy Theard), Dana and Warren Stephens; nieces and nephews Leroy (Banikah), Lance (Amber), godson and cherished nephew Langston (Kyonna), Logan Theard, uncle Wilmer Henry; aunts Janet Carr Jourdan and Sheila Carr; and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Abundant Life Church, 9900 Hayne Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Interment: Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70003.
