Leroy Singleton Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 78, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 5:13 p.m. Born in Ferriday, Louisiana, Leroy was the son of the late Roy Singleton and Josephine Gardner. Devoted husband to Joyce Cooks. Father of; Son: Leroy Singleton Jr. Daughters: Marilyn, Keisha, and Della Singleton; Sarrassa (Mark Emilien); and Carmetta (Gregory Harris). Brothers: Carl & Lionel Singleton, Johnny & Robert Forest, Jessie Gardner. Sisters: Audrey, Gwen, Denise, Veronica, Kaiser, Janice & Ollie Singleton, and Bridget Forest. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Doris Ann Gettridge (Gwen); Brothers: David, Howard, and Howard Singleton; Sisters: Brenda, Aisha, Mary, and Julia Singleton. He Also leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loved ones who loved him dearly. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, October 10, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126.
