Eric Brown was born in New Orleans, La. on September 2, 1971, to the union of Malcolm Scott and Lyda Dell Brown. He accepted Christ as his lord and savior at an early age at Sacrament Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was educated through the New Orleans School system. Eric was known for his vibrant spirit, kind heart, dedication to family, sense of humor, and generosity. Throughout his life, he brought joy to others through his jokes and storytelling. His legacy will live on in the memories of all whose lives he touched.
Eric is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Lyda Brown; his sister, Shandel Stevenson (Alfred); 3 daughters, Ashley Briggs, Reaun Alexis, and Rahjonae' Powell; 3 sons, Eric Briggs, Malcolm and Tyrell (Floronquia) Alexis; 11 grandchildren, La'Ron, Malcolm Jr, Ty'Rian, Melodei, and Ra'Miri Alexis, Zion, Zayn and Zuri Briggs, Jamon Jr, and Zoe Powell, and Michael May Jr., as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Scott and brother, Terry Brown.
Eric's unwavering kindness and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His strength, wisdom, and warm presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
