Paulette Lea (Provencher) Girard, 90, of Littleton, passed away on February 9, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Massachusetts.
Born in Lowell on October 14, 1933, she was the eldest daughter of the late Napoleon M. and Lea C. Provencher. Paulette grew up in Lowell, where she graduated from Saint Louis Academy in 1951. She was married for 51 wonderful years to the late Albert P. Girard, who passed away in 2005. Serving alongside her husband as his supporting spouse in the US Army, she lived in Salzburg, Austria; Staten Island and New York City, NY; Fort Meade, MD; Bindlach, Germany; Lawton, OK; El Paso and Killeen, TX; Fort Bragg, NC; and Heidelberg and Mannheim, Germany. Since 1970, the family has made their home in Littleton, MA.
Devoted to her family and faith, she was active in Saint Anne’s Catholic Parish, where she was a member of the Sodality and a lay Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered in the Littleton community, delivering meals for Loaves and Fishes and participating in the Littleton Seniors Club and the Littleton Country Gardeners. She was employed in Human Resources at BTU Engineering Corporation, in Billerica, and then at Millipore Corporation, in Bedford, where she retired.
She is survived by her siblings: Paul and his wife Beverly, of Londonderry, NH; Roland and his wife Denise, of Lawrence, MA; Rachel Berard, of Lowell, MA; and Leo and his wife Cindy, of Lowell, MA. She will be dearly missed by her five children: Marc and his wife Martha, of Schertz, TX; Gisele and her husband Robert Leone, of Townsend, MA; Guy and his wife Tammy, of Summerton, SC; Monique Dolan of Saraland, AL; and Danielle and her husband Geoffrey McAuliffe, of Oldsmar, FL. She is greatly loved by her 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who all cherished their Mémère. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Donald and his wife Connie; her brother-in-law, Roland Berard; and her son-in-law, Thomas Dolan.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Paulette for a period of visitation on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton. Her funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Anne’s Church, 75 King St., Littleton. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford.
