Pauline Jung Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 9, 2025.

Pauline Foy Jung, aged 95, passed away peacefully on 5 December 2025. Pauline was born in Seattle, WA, to George Quan Foy and Leong Sui Ying on December 16, 1929. She was the youngest of 9 children. She married Jimmie D. Jung in 1951 and was his loving wife for 48 years before his passing. Pauline was a long-time resident of the Silverlake neighborhood in Los Angeles. For the past 12 years, she has been a resident of Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra.

Pauline was a graduate of Garfield High School in Seattle in 1948 and received an AA degree from Los Angeles City College in 1974 and obtained her insurance license in 1979.

Pauline avidly loved cooking and baking, and devotedly caring for her daughters. She also enjoyed rooting for the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers and playing mah-jong. Pauline was very active over several decades in two civic organizations: the Lung Kong Tin Yee Association (aka Four Families) and the Chinese American Citizens Alliance. She especially enjoyed her many trips to Las Vegas and traveling with Jimmie to destinations around the world. She volunteered for many years at Glendale Memorial Hospital being awarded for over 1000 hours of service.

We want to especially thank the wonderful staff at both Atherton Skilled Nursing Facility and Vitas Healthcare for the compassionate hospice care that was provided during Pauline's last days of life.

Pauline was preceded in death by husband, Jimmie, and all her siblings. She will be deeply missed by daughters Paula Stromquist (Robert Jr.), and Roberta Singer (Michael), granddaughter Lauren Crook, great-granddaughter Reagan Crook, and her many loving nieces and nephews.

Pauline will have a private burial and be laid to rest alongside Jimmie at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA.

A memorial service will be held sometime in 2026.
