December 12, 1923 – August 18, 2024
Pauline Nelson, 100, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa. She was born on December 12, 1923, in Artesian, South Dakota, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie Carlson.
On December 2, 1944, Pauline married Clarence R. Nelson, Jr. To this marriage, two children were born, a daughter, Carla, and a son, Stewart. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Nelson Jr.; parents, Arthur and Nellie Carlson; sister, Cortess Bullock; and brothers, Eddie Carlson and Oakley Carlson.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Carla (Keith) Zimmerman of Rocky Ridge, Maryland; son, Stewart (Shirley) Nelson of Ames, Iowa; three grandsons: Jeff Hemp and Daniel Hemp, both of Maryland, and Scott Nelson of Boone, Iowa; five great-grandchildren: Brandon Hemp, Logan Hemp, Nathaniel Hemp, Kali Nelson, and Ayva Nelson.
Pauline's wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be at a later date. Burial will be at Mackey Cemetery in Boone County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the family to use at their discretion. Memorials can be sent to C/O Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 116, Boone, IA 50036.
