Pauline J. Romero Obituary (April 24, 1938 -August 20, 2025) Our beautiful mother Pauline, (also known as Nana baby), age 87, of Orosi, CA. was called home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2025. Pauline was born on April 24, 1938, in Rodey, New Mexico to parents Lorenzo Jaramillo, Jr. & Gomecinda Serna. Mom was the sixth of eight children. She was proud to say that she grew up in Rodey & Hatch, where she was baptized, attended elementary school and enjoyed her childhood which included seasons of playing in the snow with her siblings. After mom's mother passed away, she moved with her father and siblings to the San Joaquin valley, CA., and attended Redwood High school in Visalia. On November 24,1962, mom married the love of her life, Paul Romero Jr. It was a blessing for Mom & dad to share 56 years of marriage and together raise 5 children in Orosi, CA. It was while raising 5 children that mama went back to finish Adult High school, then received her A.A. degree from the College of the Sequoias. While attending college, from 1972-1978, mom was also working as a Bilingual teacher's aide at Cutler Elementary School. Mom graduated from Fresno Pacific University, receiving her BA in Multiple Subjects, with a Bilingual Spanish emphasis and earned her Lifetime teaching Credential. From 1979 to 1997 she was a dedicated Bilingual teacher at Palm School for Cutler-Orosi unified school district. Mom made a lasting impact through her involvement with several community service organizations. As an active parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic church in Cutler, she served as a Religion-CCD teacher, on church counsel, past president of the church woman's club, and sang with the church choir. Later, as Parishioners at St. Catherine's Church, mom was a member of the Catholic Daughter's and sang in the church choir. She was a member & past president of the Cutler Latin American Club Women's Auxiliary. She was an active member in the Cutler-Orosi Lions Club and served as the Vision Care Coordinator to provide school children with vision care. Mom also was a parent volunteer with the Cutler-Orosi 4-H club to lead activities while her children were members. Mom (& dad) really had an appreciation for classic cars and were members of the Sequoia Classic Thunderbird Club. Mama also made sure to prioritize her time to spend quality time with her children & grandchildren with lots of family gatherings, traveling, & spending time gardening all of her beautiful flowers, and baking goodies for all her loved ones. Pauline is survived by Children: Lori Torres (Husband Rudy, Daughter-Analisa), Angela Waterman (Husband-Alan, Daughter-Alana), Sally Martinez (Husband-Manuel, Daughters-Lenea, Lisa, Larisa), Monica Romero (Children-Julia, McKenna, Anthony, & Cinda) and Paul Erick Romero (Son-Lawrence) and 10 precious Great-grandchildren. She is survived by her Sister Mary Lorrie Vasquez & Sisters in-law: Olivia Velasquez, & Lupe Jaramillo & Brother-in-law: Rudy Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Romero Jr., & her siblings: Wilfredo Jaramillow, Lucy Cordoba, Avelia Lucero, Rita Aguilar, Nellie Rascon, Pablita Jaramillo, & brother Frank Jaramillo.
