Pauline Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Mar. 22, 2024.
Alice Pauline Smith (née Oldham), long time resident of Kirkwood, Missouri, passed away on March 22, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. Pauline was born in Maynard, Arkansas, on January 26, 1925, to Irving Allen and Chloe (Fort) Oldham. She was 99 years old.
Pauline had two beloved husbands. Her 55 year marriage to Walter Smith ended with his death in 2001. Eleven years later she married Donald England. Don passed away in 2021. In addition to her parents and husbands, Pauline was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Paul Oldham, and son-in-law, Glenn Warner.
Pauline was a world traveler, an expert bridge player, and loved a party. She was a 62 year member of Webster Groves Christian Church and was active in PEO. She appreciated live theater and music. For many years, summer weekends were spent at Coldwater Outing and Game Preserve where she and Walter had a host of good friends. Pauline enjoyed staying in their cabin, socializing at the lodge and by the pool, and being in the lovely countryside. Pauline had a gift for friendship. She was a good listener and was kind. She had a beautiful smile.
Survivors include daughters, Rebecca Warner and Robin Sprenger (Kenneth); grandchildren, David Warner, Jana Carpenter (John), Kenneth Sprenger (Lyra), and Jonathan Sprenger (Victoria); five great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Amada Senior Care and St. Croix Hospice for the excellent support and attention Pauline received in recent months.
A visitation and a memorial service will be held at Webster Groves Christian Church, 1320 W Lockwood Ave, Glendale, MO. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024. The memorial service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Webster Groves Christian Church.
