Paulo Carneiro Obituary
Paulo Carneiro, 90, of Westport, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Catholic Memorial Home, in Fall River.
He was the widower of the late Zita (DeMedeiros) Carneiro.
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was a son of the late Jose Carneiro and Margarida Carneiro da Silva.
Paulo was a hard worker and spent the majority of his career as a commercial landscaper. He was a founding member of the Academica Club and former coach of the Academica soccer team. An avid sports fan, he was always watching the Red Sox and Brazilian Soccer. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children Patrick Carneiro (wife Tammy), of Westport, Laiz Daigle (husband Rick), of Fall River, Lillian Sunderland (husband Ethan), of Griswold, CT, Laurie Travers (late husband Robert), of Dartmouth, and Lynne Souza (husband Bill), of Portsmouth, RI; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by his son Paul Carneiro.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
