Pearl Marie (Onstott) Pearson

Pearl Marie (Onstott) Pearson, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024. She retired after a career as a CNA, having worked at several local and overseas nursing homes. Pearl had a generous heart that was full of love and kindness. She truly never met a stranger. The most important thing in Pearl's life was her family and friends.

She was born on March 9, 1943 in Crawford County, Indiana to Herbert and Rachel (Harper) Onstott. Along with her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her sister, Ethel Coomer.

Pearl is survived by her husband of 64 years, Willie Pearson; daughters, Cathy Charbonneau (Pete), Carol Marie Maples (Tony), Cindy Lou Bashaw (Jeff Lalley); son, Benjamin Pearson (Carrie); six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl and Charles Onstott; sisters-in-law, Donna and Sue; close cousin, Clarence "Geno" Onstott (Elaine); and life-long friend, Judy Baker.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Carefree, Indiana.
