Mrs. Pearl Savage Matamoras, PA Formerly of Albany, NY Mrs. Pearl Savage of Matamoras, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Delaware Valley Skilled Rehab. She was 96. Born on June 13, 1929, in Belfast, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late William H. McGorman and Mary Jane Maitland McGorman. Pearl immigrated to the United States in 1948 at the age of 19 and settled in the Albany, NY area, where she would spend the next 60 years working and raising her family.
Pearl was a dedicated employee of the New York State Division of the Blind and a devoted member of McKownville Methodist Church. Known for her warmth and grace, she found great joy in music, writing letters and greeting cards, and cherishing time with her family-especially during outings and vacations to her favorite place, the Jersey Shore. Pearl had a special way of making those around her feel loved, and she never missed a party or family gathering. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Savage, Jr. and Sheryl Savage; her grandchildren, Kathleen Churchill, Kristin Justice, Jennifer Kennedy, Douglas Savage, Jr., Kierra Savage, and Noah Savage; eight great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Lynn Gurliacci. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Douglas Savage.
A private cremation was held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium in Milford, PA. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, in memory of Pearl's generous spirit. Funeral arrangements are by the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
