Pearlene Leftwich

Pearlene Leftwich, a beloved matriarch whose life was characterized by unwavering devotion to her family, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2025. Born on November 23, 1937, in the quaint town of Norton, Virginia, Pearlene's unwavering spirit and caring nature shone brightly throughout nearly nine decades of life.

Her professional journey began at Xerox, where she dedicated herself with passion and commitment; however, it was in the nurturing of her family that she found her true joy. Pearlene’s legacy is one of selflessness and compassion, always extending a helping hand to those around her. Her strong-willed personality and devotion to her family shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Pearlene cherished the moments spent travelling and enjoyed visits to casinos, reveling in the thrill of life and the joy of the holidays. These passions were always intertwined with her love for family, creating memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Craig Leftwich and Keith Leftwich; her adoring daughters, Robin Leftwich and Starla Leftwich;  a dear brother Jessie Simpson Jr, and a treasured lineage of grandchildren that include Shayla, Shanelle, Kimiya, Chyna, Thaliyah, as well as grandsons Devante, Reginald, Raymond, Theodore Jr., Nicholas, and Shaylee, each a testament to her loving heart and indomitable spirit. Her Best friend and travelling partner Ms. Irma Tibbs.

Pearlene is preceded in death by her cherished husband, Theodore Thomas Leftwich Sr., whose memory she carried with unwavering affection; her beloved sons, Theodore Thomas Leftwich Jr. and Kevin Allen Leftwich; her loving parents, Martha Simpson and Jessie Simpson Sr.; Their spirits dwell with her now, entwined in eternal love.

As we reflect on the indelible mark that Pearlene Leftwich has left upon this world, we remember her as a pillar of strength, a beacon of caring, and a fountain of joy. Her legacy will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family, who strive to reflect the love and devotion she so graciously imparted. May her memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of sharing in her remarkable life.

There will be a public visitation held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 10am with a church service to begin at 11am. Services will be held at Hosack Street Baptist Church located at 1160 Watkins Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43207. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
