On Monday, December 8, 2025 Pearlie Mae Crews transitioned to eternal life. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was born on June 25, 1938 to the late Nora Lee Dockery of Laurel Hill, North Carolina.
Upon relocating to NJ, she met her future husband (Eddie) while she was visiting her Aunt Mary and future mother and father in law (Christine and Alvis Crews).
She was married at Miracle Missionary Baptist church in Plainfield, NJ. where she later joined the church. While there she joined the Choir, Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee. Later, Pearlie joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Bridgewater, NJ where her brother, Rev. James E. Dockery was Pastor. She sang with the choir and helped with the Kitchen Committee.
She began her nursing journey at Planned Parenthood in New Brunswick. Pearlie earned her Associates Degree at age 52 from Middlesex County College while she worked as a Nursing Assistant at Lyons VA Medical Center in Lyons, NJ. After earning her degree, Pearlie took the Nursing boards where she passed on the first attempt while continuing to work as an RN at Lyons until she retired at 63.
Pearlie loved to host family cookouts and Thanksgiving dinners at her house. These created memories that will last a lifetime.
Pearlie was predeceased by her son Leon (Gail). She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Kevin, Stephen (Maggie), and Nanette. Grandchildren, Marcus, Milon, Nora, Tamara, Rael, Jessica. Great-grandchildren, Bella and Avery. Brothers and sisters. James (deceased), Rosa, Annie, Beatrice, Eugene, Louis, Carolyn (deceased).
