With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our dear Brother Pedro "Dindo" Abrigo on September 24, 2024. He was born on December 07, 1952 in Quezon City, Philippines. Growing up, he was always the shy, quiet, serious one of us three. He shared his love for art, sketching with Dad at every opportunity. His love of animals led him to study Veterinary Science in the Philippines. Unfortunately, his zest for life was hampered when an unexpected stroke at 21 years old left him wheelchair bound. While navigating his challenges, he was able to complete his Associate's Degree and never tired of his quest to become as independent as possible. With the help of his loving family, we stood by him and cared for him. He enriched our lives teaching us patience, courage and unconditional love.
Upon immigrating to the United States in 1974, Dindo went to several Rehabilitation Facilities that provided him with the assistance he needed to face his challenges. We are eternally grateful to all the medical staff, nurses, CNAs and therapists helping to make the next 50 years of his life as joyful as possible.
And now, our brother's song has ended. He's gone into that deep sleep. It is our hope that the light surrounds him, that gravity will have released its hold, that his feet will touch the grass lightly, that the gentle breeze will carry him forward. May love and happy thoughts lift him to the heavens and may the journey bring him to our mother and father.
"It's the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning."
- Peter Pan, J. M. Barrie
