Pedro 'Pete' de la Cruz, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Pete was born in Midland Texas in 1939, he learned early of hard work as he was the eldest son of migrant farm workers who traveled to various states for work including Montana, Wyoming and finally Washington where his family eventually settled in the Skagit Valley in 1948. Pete attended Nooksack high school and later went to school to become a Carpenter. Pete married Yolanda Felix in September of 1965, they had 5 children, Michael, Deanna, Margaret, Sylvia and Irene. Pete enjoyed singing and playing music, he was a very talented guitar player which he learned as a young boy.
Pete is survived by his son, Michael de la Cruz; daughters, Deanna de la Cruz Margaret Partida, Sylvia de la Cruz, Irene Rodriguez and many grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lynne Armfield de la Cruz; brothers, Timothy de la Cruz, Rudy de la Cruz; sisters, Martha Fernandez and Marie Fernandez
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00, Friday, March 7, 2025 at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, followed by a reception. Share your memories of Pedro and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com.

Pete was definitely the best step father any boy could have. I talk about him all the time. I actually got a chance to talk to him on the phone not to long ago and thank him for all he did for me.
