Pedro R. Perales

Pedro R. Perales Sr., age 94 of Hinckley, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 17, 1931, in Villa Union Coahuila, Mexico, the son of Jose Enrique and Concepcion (Flores) Perales.

Pedro was united in marriage on January 1, 1960 to Isabel Gomez and they spent the next 66 years happily together. Mr. Perales attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 39 years. Prior to that time Pedro also worked for local businesses and farmers. He enjoyed attending community events, such as the Hinckley Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. He was a member of the Little Coin Company, and he grew quite an extensive coin collection that he enjoyed sharing. He was a fan of professional boxing and would attend matches locally and in the city. He loved spending time in his garden and feeding the birds. He was most famous for his homemade salsa. This was a secret recipe for many years that he finally shared. He guided his children into diverse careers, including music, business, and healthcare. Above all demonstrated the value of respect.

Pedro was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Pedro is survived by his wife, Isabel Perales of Hinckley, IL; his children, P. Robert Perales Jr. of Largo, FL, Richard (Michelle) Perales of Rock Hill, S.C., and Gloria (Jeff) Simpkins of Hinckley, IL; his six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jose Humberto (Isabel) Perales of TX, and Enrique Perales of TN; also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Concepcion Perales; his grandson, Nicholas Perales; also, three siblings.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley, IL.

Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the Funeral Home in Hinckley, IL.
