Hollister, North Carolina
Mrs. Peggie Richardson-Coker, 59, of Hollister, North Carolina, daughter of the late Andrew and Avorlean Richardson, was born on July 5, 1965. She departed this life on February 10, 2025 for eternal rest.
Peggie was a woman whose kindness and love touched so many. If it was one thing that defined her, it was her deep and unwavering love for children. She was an early childhood educator for over 35 years and had a special place in her heart for all children, especially the ones who lived in her neighborhood, whom she would keep ice pops and snack bags for whenever they stopped by to say hello.
In addition to the love for her family and friends, Peggie's heart was also big enough to embrace her dear special friend, Herbert Arrington. Their bond was one of trust, companionship, and deep understanding. They found joy and comfort in each other's presences. He was more than her friend, he was family, someone who shared her laughter and love for travel and supported her through life's ups and downs and brought light into her days when no one else could.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband: Lee C. Coker; sisters: Roshea Hamilton, Judy Silver, and Oletha Richardson; along with brothers: Sherroy and Randy Richardson.
She leaves behind her only child: Brooke Richardson (Quinn) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina to cherish her memories, along with three special godchildren: Gregory Robertson, Marissa Guthrie, and India Richardson; and her special nephew and niece, whom she could always count on, Dannon Richardson and Tracy Alston Richardson.
She is survived by four brothers: Andrew C. Richardson (Earnestine), Aaron Richardson (Jackie), Daniel Richardson (Janet), and Rollie Richardson (Lucy), all of Hollister, North Carolina; three sisters: Collie Alston (Johnnie) and Carnie Richardson of Enfield North Carolina, and Sarah Clanton of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law: Nathaniel Coker and Henry Richardson; three sisters-in-law: Francene Miller, Geneva Elmore, and Joella Dash; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
