Peggy Cecil, 86, of Florida, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025. A devoted
wife, a cherished friend, and a radiant spirit. Peggy lived a life full of warmth and
kindness, balanced by a strong faith.
Born in New Albay, IN in1939, Peggy eventually made her home along Florida's
beautiful coast in 1980, where the beach became not just a favorite place, but a symbol
of her soul - calm, enduring, and full of light. She could often be found walking along
the shoreline, collecting seashells, watching the waves, or simply enjoying the sun on
her face. The ocean was her sanctuary, and she shared that love with all of her family
who came to visit her and everyone who knew her.
Peggy was married to the love of her life, Bill Cecil, with whom she shared many
decades of laughter, adventure, and unwavering partnership. Together, they built a
home filled with love and cherished memories. Peggy adored Bill, just as Bill adored
Peggy.
Those who knew Peggy remember her gentle heart, her grace, her ability to make
everyone feel at ease, and who could forget her famous pork chop dinners and deviled
eggs! Whether through a warm smile, a heartfelt conversation on her back porch,
staying up half the night watching shows, or a quiet act of generosity, she left an
indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Peggy is survived by a wide circle of friends from the Bible Baptist Church, family back
home in Indiana, and many neighbors who will miss her deeply.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Peggy's memory to the
Bible Baptist Church, supporting causes close to her heart.
