Peggy Turner-Freshour, age 76, of Newport, TN. Passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
She was the daughter of Herbert Lee "Bo" and Helen Pierce-Turner, step daughter of Iva turner and step sister to Nancy Cline who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother Jerry Ray Turner, son Ralph Eric Freshour, granddaughters Robyn Erika Freshour and Autumn Banks, great granddaughter Ava Freshour and great grandsons Sterling Freshour and Weston Hall, also her nieces, nephew, cousins, friends and special mention to her beloved aunt Anna Lee Fraley.
Peggy began her childhood in Del Rio on what she loved to say was the Old 15th & Rocky Top. She graduated from Parrottsville High School, Class of 66. She spent 28 years working for American Enka where she began her management skills and received commendations for achievement over and above what was expected. After the plant closed Peggy received her Associate's of Applied Science Degree in Management Technology w/ emphasis in Hospitality Management at Walter State Community College. She then worked for Best Western, Gatlinburg for 11 years. Approaching retirement, she concluded her life's career as a teacher's aid at Parrottsville Elementary.
A proud member and Vice-President of the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club.
Peggy lived a life doing what she loved with the one ones she loved! Traveling, camping, nature watching and photography. Her greatest joy however was when she did these things with her son Eric, granddaughter Robyn and her Sugar Pie Honey Bunches, 1 and 2, Ava and Sterling. She was loved in this life, will be missed and loved again in the next life.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2025 with funeral services follow at 7 p.m. in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in Union Cemetery.
