Peggy Faye Sizemore Gregory, 76, passed away on June 22, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory. Born in Amory on October 13, 1946, she was a daughter of Basil Adophus and Thelma Lou Tucker Sizemore. She married E.J. Gregory on May 25, 1962 and was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. A devout homemaker, she also worked for Amory Garment Co., Holland’s Fish and Steak House, Plantation Fish and Steak, and the Amory High School cafeteria from which she retired. She was a devoted member of Smithville Baptist Church and loved to be involved in the church activities and spending time with her church family. Her hobbies included scrolling through her iPad, reading Karen Kingsbury book and going to yard sales, but above all spending time with her children and grandchildren were times she cherished.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Smithville Baptist Church with Bro. Drew Gardner and Bro. Jackie Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the Pearce Chapel Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, E.J. Gregory, she is survived by one son, Edwin Gregory (Angela) of Smithville; 3 daughters, Sherry Montgomery (Richard) of Smithville, Renee Caldwell (Chris) of Hatley, and Patti Causey (Mike) of Nettleton; grandchildren, Eric Mills (Latasha), Daniel Montgomery (Stephanie), Amber Pearson, Taylor Scruggs (Dylan), and Mallory Pate (Drew); great grandchildren, Drew and Ayden Gideon, Anna Pearson, Georgia Kate and Ridge Mills, Ansley, Casen and Myla Pearl Scruggs, and soon to be born, River Kathleen Montgomery; and aunt, Shirley Johnson of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; baby sister, Katie; and granddaughter, Allie Gregory.
Pallbearers will be Eric and Ridge Mills, Daniel Montgomery, Drew and Ayden Gideon, Dylan Scruggs, and Drew Pate. Honorary pallbearers will be Anna Pearson, Georgia Kate Mills, Blake Duncan, and the deacons of Smithville Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
