Peggy Kelly Kalaf of Punta Gorda, Florida, died unexpectedly at Harmony of Morgantown, on January 7, 2025.
Peggy was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, August 31, 1948, daughter of Dr. Warren G. and Jessie Kelly of Arthurdale.
Peggy graduated in 1965, from Valley High School in Masontown, West Virginia, and was a 1969 graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from West Virginia University.
Peggy was a self-employed photographer in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she also used her journalism background to write for businesses and trade associations in the region. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and enjoyed art and painting portraits, many of which she presented as gifts.
Peggy is survived by her son Nathan Kalaf, of Austin Texas, her sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Ron Shannon of Morgantown, her brother John Kelly of Arthurdale, sister-in-law Debi Kelly of Reedsville, brother-in-law Roger Day of Arthurdale, special aunt, Mildred Woods of Bridgeport, her best friend Susan O'Connor of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Warren and Jessie Kelly, her husband, George Kalaf, son Michael Kalaf, sister Linda Day, and brother Larry Kelly.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Harmony of Morgantown, for their exceptional care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Punta Gorda, Florida. Peggy will be buried alongside her husband George, and son Michael, at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
