Maxine Arnwine Kerley, age 86, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Life Care Nursing Home in Athens.

She was the daughter of the late Ray and Eleice Arnwine of Niota and a member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church. Maxine was employed for many years at Miller's Department Store and Proffitt's and later became the owner and operator of Second Time Around Clothing Store and Service Clean-Up Auto Detail Shop, where she worked alongside her husband, Warren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Eleice Arnwine; brother and sister-in-law, John and Shirley Arnwine of Niota; brother, Jimmy Arnwine of Knoxville; and special brother-in-law, Carl Brewer of Knoxville.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Warren Kerley; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Keith Farris of Benton, TN; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Tammy Kerley of Athens, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, Buster and Vicki Arnwine of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Mary Jo Brewer of Knoxville, TN; one sister-in-law, Glenda Arnwine of Knoxville, TN; two grandchildren, Hannah Kerley of Kingston, TN, and Blake Farris of New Mexico; and three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Addison, and Naomi. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Maxine on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Marshall Hill Baptist Church in Athens, TN.
