Peggy Lazenby Obituary
Peggy Lazenby, of Covington, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 82. Mrs. Lazenby, affectionately known to everyone as Mamie, was born in Porterdale and spent her entire life in the community she loved so dearly. She had a deep love for Elvis Presley, enjoyed traveling and going on cruises, and found her greatest joy in time spent with her family - especially her beloved grandchildren. Mamie never met a stranger and was known for her warm conversations and friendly spirit. She was a proud member of the Porterdale Women’s Club and will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and love for others. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Patrick Lazenby; daughter, Juanita Beth Mason; granddaughter, Allie Davenport; parents, Marvin and Ruth Chapman; sister, Sara Frances Hewell; and brother, Richard Chapman.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Davenport (Tim); granddaughters, Olivia Schroeder (Zachary), Megan Mason, Tori Mason, Sara Mason; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Ruthie, Finn, Turner Schroeder; sister, Kay Bankston; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Lazenby will be held Friday, December 26, 2025, 12:00 P.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Service, 1111 Access Road, in Covington.
