Peggy Sue Mortimer, of McHenry, IL passed away on Sunday September 7, 2025.
She was born on March 9, 1942 in Christopher, IL to parents Leslie and Delora (Myrtle-VanZandt) Flowers.
Peggy found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Whether cooking up family favorites, baking beautiful cakes for weddings and birthdays, or tending to her garden, she poured her love and care into everything she did. Her passion for music shone through her love of Johnny Cash and Randy Travis, whose songs often filled her kitchen as she baked.
Always up for an adventure, she enjoyed taking road trips with her best friend, Cathy Coleman, creating countless memories along the way.
Peggy leaves behind a legacy of love, family traditions, and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Perrone (Steve Kuhn), granddaughters, Candice (Dan) Paulus and Amanda (Greg) Capretz, great-grandchildren, Sarah Boone, Rebecca Boone, Daniel W. Boone, Gwyneth Broker, Leah Broker, Blake Perrone, Ashlynn Perrone, Savannah Capretz, sister Nancy Spaulding, and Daniel B Boone.
