Peggy Sue Moyer, age 67 of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 13, 1958 in Shelby to Ralph Thomas and Alberta (Wallace) Smith, she had been a lifelong resident of Shelby.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing in her spare time. She retired as a bus driver from the Shelby City Schools after driving for many years. She embodied the true spirit of a homemaker, expressing her love through her cooking and the warmth of her Godly kept home. She.had a kind heart and a gentle way about her. Her patience and kindness will be remembered forever.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Franklin Moyer, whom she wed on October 26, 1991; her children: Tina Hicks, Maggie (Steve) McNutt, Brittany Moyer, and Kristin Moyer; her grandchildren: Jayden Hicks, Jenna Hicks, Bailey Padisak, Tessa Reed, Lorelei Reed, Emmett Loveland, Ezra Loveland, Enzo Loveland, Zeven Edwards, and a great grandchild on the way; her brothers: Anthony D. (Tammy) Smith, and Clarence A. (Chris) Smith; as well as many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Edward Smith, Perry Steven Smith and James A. Smith.
Friends and family may come to honor Peggy's life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday, October 30, 2025 starting at 12:00 PM with Reverend Mayor Steven Schag officiating. An interment will follow the funeral service at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 21 Washington Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
