After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Peggy Ingram Rhea went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, July 20, 2024. She was born January 22, 1939, in Waco, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents William Haskell Ingram and Oledith Smotherman Snipes, her sisters, Pat Ditto and Laurita Giles, and her brother, Kenneth Ingram, and her beloved husband, George (Sonny) Wendell Rhea. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherri Bradford and husband Kenny, Terri Sykes and partner Lita Giddings, 4 grandchildren, Holly, Wendy, Shane and Valerie, and 7 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Julian, Ellis, Charlie, Emmett, Layken and Landry, brother, John Ingram and wife Sharon, and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy attended Bosqueville high school and worked part time for Williams Drug Fountain, where she met the love of her life. On July 26, 1956, she married Sonny Rhea, and they went on to have two precious daughters, Sherri and Terri. In 1964, they moved their family to Mesquite, Texas, where she began a career in the produce business at Hines Produce Company. After nearly 40 years in the industry, she retired from a career she loved. Peggy and Sonny were married for almost 60 years when he passed away in February of 2016.

Peggy was a faithful servant for the Lord and loved her church! Throughout the years she worked in the youth department, taught Sunday School for young married couples, and helped with vacation bible schools. She had a passion for music and a God-given ability to play the piano since she was a small child. You could often find her playing the piano at the Highland Park Cafeteria, prior to its closing. She truly adored her family, and leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and faith and will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to know her!
