With heavy hearts, the family of Peggy Schmid announces her passing at her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. On October 16, 2025.
Peggy was born in Overton, Nebraska to Charles Gadd and Ethel Stucker, but raised by a single mom. When Peggy started to go to school it was a farm school near St. Paul, Nebraska. Much later she went to Ansley, Nebraska where her grandparents, Curt and Rose and brother, Verle, lived. She started school in the third grade. She had great times there and on into high school where she participated in girls basketball and volleyball and learned how to ballroom dance. She was voted the best school dancer of her class. She graduated in 1948. Her brother was home from college and insisted she come to Lincoln, Nebraska with him and his wife to attend business college. Upon completion, she got a job with two attorney, Pansing and Guenzel. In 1951, Bob Schmid came into her life, they became engaged in 1952 and married in 1953. Bob moved her back to Ansley along with 23 boxes of shoes. Bob and Peggy brought five children into the World. In 1971, McArthur, a law firm, pursued Peggy to come back into the legal office, where she remained for thirty three years as a legal secretary until retirement.
After retiring in 1997, spending many winters in Maui, mesa and Lake Havasu City, settling in Lake Havasu is where they purchased a home of their dreams with a beautiful view of the lake and California mountains.
