Peggy Jeffcoat Stack

Peggy Jeffcoat Stack passed away on November 17th, 2025 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John C. Stack and their son, John C. Stack, Jr., Dothan, Alabama. She is also survived by her brother, Dewey Jeffcoat, Birmingham, Alabama and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Alma Jeffcoat, Elba, Alabama, a sister, Mary Ellen Simmons, (Horace, Jr.) Hacoda, Alabama, a brother, Jerrell Jeffcoat, (Doreen) Enterprise, Alabama, and a sister, Linda Lucas, (Ray) Opp, Alabama. Peggy was an English teacher and retired in 1999 after 30 years of enriching the lives of thousands of students. Over 20 of those years were with the Dothan City School System. When John retired from his banking career with SouthTrust Bank in 2005, they built their dream home behind the 16th green at Rocky Bayou Country Club in Niceville. For over 20 years, they enjoyed the good life with family and friends. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola with Emerald Coast Funeral Home officiating. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff members at Fort Walton Medical Center for their incredible support and attention during this very difficult time. A very special thanks to nurse Kristie. You are an angel. The family would also like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice Care and The Manor at Bluewater for making her final days as comfortable as possible. The family will hold a private service at a later date.
