Penny Blankenship Pietras passed away October 9, 2025, in Albany, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home with Walter Blankenship officiating.

Penny was born April 1,1946 and was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Mazzarella and Billie P. Blankenship; one brother, Carlos Blankenship; and beloved nephew, Mark Blankenship.

Penny is survived by her daughter, Tami A. Pietras (Shane Brown). Sister, Carol Warren and brother, Walter Blankenship (Elaine). Nieces; Debra C. Rowe (Ron) and Abby R. Blankenship. Nephews; John M. Blankenship (Scotti) and Matthew Blankenship.

Penny was the family CEO and “strong ground” for us all. She had a keen eye for design, a gift - and love for all things beautiful. An extra special gift herself; generous, loving, always up for a meal out, a ride along, and time with family. Penny is and will be deeply missed; but we will always carry her laughter and spirit in our hearts and memories. We are blessed with gifts of love and connection to each other…deep roots.

Our lives have been enriched by her life, and we will work to honor her legacy of laughter and “speak your truth” attitude.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical professionals at Phoebe Putney Memorial and Willson Hospice for their kindness, care, and support.

Those desiring may make memorials in memory of Penny Marie Pietras to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA, 31707.
