Francis Pentecost “Penny” Greer, age 74 of Gallatin, TN, passed away June 2, 2024. Penny was born April 7, 1950, in Gallatin, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah “Sally” Caldwell; son, Patrick Greer; sisters, Patricia Martin and Sarah Caldwell. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Danny Greer; son, Tommy Greer (Christine); grandchildren, William Greer (Shauna), Patricia Greer, Thomas Greer; Nicholas Fugarazzo (Jess Parrott) and Emily Fugarazzo (Michael Riddick); great grandchildren, Rowan Greer, Lillian Posey, Indy Greer, Kai Greer, Everett Naumann, Jasmine Riddick, Sawyer Naumann, Coda Greer, Nico Fugarazzo, Michael Riddick, Jr., and Milo Greer.
Penny worked as a deputy clerk for the office of Sumner County Trustee and was a salesclerk for Dillard’s and Hecht’s Department Stores. She was a member of First Baptist Gallatin where she was a member of Susan Penfield’s Sunday School Class. Penny was a loving wife and mother and adored her grandchildren and great children. She was a graduate of Gallatin High School Class of 1968 and attended MTSU. Penny was an avid dog lover.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6th from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Dr. Steven Nelson and Rev. Mike Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Thomas Greer, Lance Hampton, Roy Alexander, Johnny Wilson, Sonny Meiggs, Louis Greer and Donnie McCloud serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Crockett, Randy Hampton and Cameron Crutcher. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 6th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
