Penny Jensen

Penny Benson Jensen December 21, 1941 – August 10, 2025 Penny Jensen, born on December 21, 1941, and passed away on August 10, 2025. Her vibrant spirit and selfless heart left an indelible mark on every life she touched. Her life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and service. Attended Utah State, graduated LBCC and CSULB of Psychology. Penny channeled her education into a successful career. She served as an Office Manager at a Construction Co. and taught at Carroll Tech School and was an Executive Assistant Montgomery and Collins - Property Management. Despite her professional achievements, Penny was a homemaker at heart, always ready to offer a helping hand and comfort to those in need. Penny married Cordell Jensen on February 16, 1962, in the Logan, Utah Temple, with whom she shared a beautiful life with for 63 years. Penny was a beacon of creativity, her love for sewing, painting, drawing, crochet, and embroidery was infectious, and she filled her home in Brigham City, Utah, with the warmth of her beautiful creations. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Penny was deeply involved in her community and religious activities. She served as the Relief Society President and was a devoted temple worker for 15 years alongside her husband at the Atlanta, Ogden, and Brigham City Temples. Penny was also a beloved Sunday School Teacher and Primary Teacher. Her spiritual devotion, coupled with her unwavering commitment to service, made her a cherished member of her community. The family would like to express special thanks to 1st Responders Brigham City Fire Department and Police Department, neighbors and fellow ward members for their love and support. Penny is survived by her husband Cordell; her children, Michele Whigham, Shari Reid (Richard) and Diana Anctil Iliov (Kon), two grandchildren and 3 great grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Sterling Tanner and Helen Benson; her grandparents, Milton Benson and Otey Lewis; her siblings: Karl Benson, Jackie Haslam and Marlyn Hodges.
