MAYABB
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mrs. Penny Sue (Cunningham) Mayabb, who passed away suddenly at the age of 55 on Friday, May 16, 2025, in Springfield Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Penny was born to Edward T. Cunningham and Linda (Berry) Cunningham on November 18, 1969, in Madison County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Madison County, Penny grew up in the Sedalia area and was a graduate of Madison Plains High School. She later relocated to South Vienna where she could be closer to her family and spend more time with her beloved grandchildren. Affectionally known as "Nene," Penny was truly the best grandmother you could ask for. Her kindness knew no bounds, her patience was never-ending, and the love she had for her family was unwavering. She enjoyed riding bicycles and was always excited for rides with her eldest grandson. Penny enjoyed birdwatching with her morning coffee and was sure to have her binoculars ready by the window each morning. While she would ensure to place feed for all the birds who graced her yard, the hummingbirds were always her favorite. With quite the green-thumb, Penny also raised an impressive flower garden each year. Roses and lilies were some of her most beautiful each year, but her nurturing nature was sure to allow any flower to thrive.
Above all, Penny was a giver. She gave her time, resources, and most of all her love to anyone she spent time with. The best matriarch and beloved Nene, our lives have truly been blessed by her presence.
As Penny was known for her generosity, even in death Penny's giving continues as her donation of organs, eyes, and tissues will provide the gift of life for many individuals.
Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Randy Mayabb; mother Linda Cunningham; children: Taz Hamilton, Damian (Leigh) Hamilton, Cora (Troy) Lockhart, and Dylan (Kelly) Mayabb; grandchildren: Amilia Hamilton, Noah Lockhart, T.J. Lockhart, Charlie Lockhart, Evan Mayabb, and Eli Mayabb; brother Jason (Mandy) Cunningham; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Penny was preceded in death by her father Edward Cunningham, granddaughter Shiann Lockhart, brother Tom Cunningham, and uncle Larry Barry.
Penny's family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will commence at 6:00 PM with Reverend Gordon Ell officiating. Cremation will then take place in accordance with Penny's wishes.
