Penny Dee (Young) Reusser, the energetic joy and delight of our lives, went to her eternal home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2025 while at home and surrounded by the love and care of her husband and children.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1943, Penny's family lived in Long Island, New York, where she graduated from Bayside High School in 1961. Her pursuit of an Art Degree led her to Oklahoma City University, where she met and married Larry Reusser in March 1962. They began their family with three children while living in Bethany, Oklahoma, before moving to Greenville, Texas in 1966, where they welcomed two more.
She was led to Christ after joining Wesley United Methodist Church through the influence of her Sunday school teacher and close friends. Larry and Penny became active members and dedicated their time to Sunday school, Bible study, and the church choir. In 1974, the family moved to Mustang, Oklahoma, quickly becoming active members of Mustang Methodist Church. Penny exercised her faith by dedicating herself to the church community, singing in the choir, co-leading the youth group, and volunteering with Vacation Bible School. Most importantly, she played an active and loving role in guiding each of her children to their faith in Jesus Christ.
Penny served as the first secretary at Covenant Community Church in Yukon, Oklahoma, for 20 years. During that time, she was an active member, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School (where she taught many of her own grandchildren), volunteering with AWANAS, assisting in teaching English as a Second Language, and attending Bible studies and women's retreats. In retirement, she continued her Thursday morning Bible studies with daughters and granddaughters, pursued painting classes, and traveled extensively with her husband on bus trips, including memorable journeys to Alaska and the East Coast.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth T. Young and mother Vivian Joyce (Yager) Brady, sister Judith Joyce Mariani, and brother David Alton Young.
She is survived by her husband Larry Dean Reusser, children Dana (Mark) Myers, Neal (Karen) Reusser, Jennifer (Terry) Tipton, Dean Reusser, Paula (Brian) Stalder, her brother Kenneth Turner Young Jr., thirteen grandchildren; Saysha (Travis) Hagan, Megan (Paul) Evans, Chase (Jen) Myers, Cale (Tarilyn) Myers, Christine (Jake) Chilcoat, Kendra (Ben) Christian, Haley (Matt) Wyckoff, Jarred (Brooke) Tipton, Hannah Tipton, Arianna Stalder, Mason Stalder, Hollie Stalder, Slade Stalder, and twenty one great-grandchildren.
Public Visitation is being held on Friday, August 1st, from 1-8pm at McNeil's Funeral Service.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd, at 10am at Covenant Community Church in Yukon.
