Penny Sue Strack

Penny Sue Strack, 69, of Churubusco, Indiana passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at home. Born May 22, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Indiana she was a daughter of Rexal and Norma (Jones) Arington.
She graduated from Snider High School, Fort Wayne with the Class of 1973. On December 3, 1976, Penny married Eugene 'Pete' Strack. She is a member of St. John's Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco, Indiana.
Penny started working at Maloleys Grocery as a bakery hostess and stayed with the company for many years. She loved baking. She went on to work for brokerage firms and then later worked for General Mills. In 2023 she retired from Millers Markets.
Penny loved playing softball and gardening, planting mostly flowering plants. She enjoyed camping at Silver Lake Dunes with her family.
Penny understood how important family is and took the lead, organizing nearly all family gatherings. Food, decorations, gifts, times, places. She did it all.
She hosted an annual cookie extravaganza with her friends and family. People looked forward to receiving special Christmas goodies with beautifully decorated cookies, fudge, and buckeyes. She always took time to go the extra mile and make things special.
Penny is survived by her loving husband, Eugene 'Pete' Strack; children, Niki (Bret) Keister, and Brett Strack; grandchildren, Liam, Nora, Vivian, and Isaac Keister; father, Rexal Arington; siblings, Michael (Sharon) Arington, Terry (Jeffery) Meyer, Nadine (Sherlin) Bollman, and James Kevin Arington. She was preceded in death mother, Norma Jean Arington.
Rosary will be recited at 3:00 pm with visitation from 3:30 - 7:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 216 N Main St., Churubusco, Indiana.
