Penny Renea Garth, age 59, went home to be with our Lord on October 11, 2024. She was born on July 15, 1965, in Pampa, Texas to Ann Terry and Dale Whitten.
Penny was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend known for her huge heart, infectious laugh, and a relentless love of sports. She dedicated her life to her family and friends but most of all, to her children and her grandchildren. Her impact on those around her was immeasurable.
Penny is survived by her son Sloan Whitten, daughter Whitlee Williams and husband Cory of Tahoka. Sister Liz Burton of Lubbock, Father Walter Dunham of Clarendon, Bill and Jenni Terry of Pampa, Gail and Tom Glass of Austin, Madison Morgan of Austin, Nick Morgan and wife Desiree of Monahans, sisters Bobbi Brinson, Denise Mulkey, Amber Dunham and Jodi Dunham and brother Clay Dunham as well as her sister by choice, Cassie Morton.
Penny is also survived by her grandchildren that she loved with her whole heart. Brody Attebury, Averee and Aubree Williams, Isaiah Watson, Wacie, Conner and Cooper Whitten, Elizabeth Harcrow and Harley Whitten. She also had innumerable cousins and friends that loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother Ann Dunham, father Dale Whitten and her brother Mac Dunham.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Combest Family Funeral Home 2210 Broadway St, Lubbock Texas 79401. Visitation will be from 9:00am-1:00pm, prior to the service. The family will greet friends from 10:00am-12:00pm. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Penny will be missed terribly, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
