With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Percy Paul Doucet, who left us peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on January 19, 1938, in Gueydan, Louisiana, Percy was a proud son of Alpha and Laura Doucet. He spent his life working as a tugboat captain, navigating the waters he loved while building a legacy of hard work and dedication. Percy was not just a sailor; he was a true family man who cherished his loved ones. Known for his playful spirit, Percy had a knack for telling jokes and making people laugh. He always found joy in the great outdoors, where he felt most at home. Percy's zest for life and infectious humor will be deeply missed.
He takes with him a piece of all those who knew and loved him, including his children, Shirley Guillory, Calvin Doucet, Sr. (Donna Vice), Keith (Andrea) Doucet, Wayne (Sheila) Fruge, Tina Guidry, and Heather Doucet. Percy also leaves behind his siblings, Louis Doucet Rita Conner and Anna Guidry, as well as numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren whose lives he enriched with laughter and love.
Percy was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Doucet; his parents, Alpha and Laura Doucet; a son, Robert Doucet; and his Seven Siblings.
