Permelia Christine Smith

Permelia "Christine" Purser Baucom Smith, 100, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was born in Union County, NC on November 27, 1924, daughter to the late William Martin Purser and Viola Victoria Baucom Purser. She is also preceded in death by her late husbands Henry Craven "Jack" Baucom and Marvin Smith, as well as her three brothers, Ray Purser, Clay Purser, and Billy Martin Purser, two sisters, Vanessa McMillan and Betty Jo Thomas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow in Euto Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
Christine is survived by her two sons, Donnie Baucom (Jane) and Jackie Carrol Baucom (Louise), brother, Pliney Purser (Jeanette), five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
