Perry Ennis Obituary

Perry Donald Ennis Greenville - Perry Donald Ennis, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center. Perry was born to the late Jerry Donald Ennis and Dorothy Langston Ennis on January 22, 1952.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at Hollywood Church EPC, 5103 NC 43 South in Greenville on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Keith Cobb will be officiating the service. Visitation will precede the service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Perry was born in Harnett County and grew up in Benson, NC. Greenville was his home for over fifty years. Perry's career path led him to East Carolina University in 1981. He worked in the Department of Materials Management for thirty years. During his tenure he was awarded the Business Services Quest for Excellence 'Captain Award' in 2005 and the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in 2006 for 'Devotion to Duty'. He was a published author of two books, Understanding Home Construction and Prepare for the Coming of Messiah. Perry was passionate about his faith and served in many ministries over the last fifty years. He was a chaplain with the Pitt County Detention Center and several NC Correctional Institutions. He enjoyed teaching and fellowship at Hollywood Church and various other ministry groups. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, enjoying walks in the woods, tending to his property, researching Bible prophecy and teaching. He was a compassionate and caring friend and mentor to many in the Greenville area and beyond. Perry was very altruistic, donating to many causes and visiting the sick and elderly. He had a passionate love for Israel and was able to visit the land multiple times.

In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Anthony Ennis. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Edwards Ennis; daughter, Amanda Ennis Brewington and husband, Bradley of Greenville; son, Joshua Logan Ennis and wife, Elizabeth of Greenville; grandchildren, Brayden and Benjamin Brewington, Charlotte and James Ennis.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the many friends and family around the globe who have shown their love and support of Perry and the Ennis family through fervent prayer. You have been a blessing to us.
